FLOOR MOUNTING

All bases must use all 4 fastener slots or holes to achieve rigidity in all planes. Tru-Lok bases are designed to work with 5/16 or M-8 floor studs.

PLASTIC BASES require the use of torque limiters. These are tied to a base hole at the factory. Place base over floor studs. Install the torque limiters, flange up, around the floor studs. Install nuts with Lock washers if desired. Refer to illustration at right.

METAL BASES (All types) do not require torque limiters.

LIGHT SCREEN ASSEMBLY & ADJUSTMENT

Assembly of screen to guard will depend on brand & model. The appropriate hardware kit is specified in the part number. Required tools vary with hardware kit, but a set of metric nut drivers, hex keys and a Phillips screwdriver will cover most. A 3mm T. handle hex is preferred for tension lock joint adjustments. Fence mount self-drilling screws have M-8/5/16 hex head. Whenever possible internationally standard metric hex bolts and nuts are used.

PROTECTIVE LENS

Remove protective lens by removing one end cap. Peel protective masking off outside of lens after assembly; before power on.

OVERHANG AND OFFSET LIMITATIONS

SPECIFIC TO EACH STYLE

Following are general guidelines to provide necessary rigidity for proper light screen sensor function.
*Note: In applications that require additional support brackets, Light screens MUST BE adjusted & aligned before brackets are mounted.

Angular

If the guard is moved more than 150mm off center from the pivot bracket, an additional support usually is required on the floor.

Horizontal / Fence

The floor posts or fence brackets are designed to be positioned within 300mm of each end.

Vertical

Provided brackets usually limit adjustment within acceptable parameters. If more than half the guard length is above the top of the post, an additional brace to the fence or suitable structure will be required.
